2020-21

Band &
Choir Teacher

How long have you been at NBCS? I have been serving at NBCS since 2015. I began as the 1st-2nd grade teacher, and then switched to teaching music part time when I had Hope, our oldest daughter.

What have you loved most about NBCS? I love that we get to praise God while singing and playing music!

What is a fun fact about you? I never attended a Christian school as a student, but am very blessed to teach at NBCS! I am looking forward to our two daughters attending in the future!

What are your favorite things to do outside of school? I love planning, running my Etsy shop, and listening to audiobooks!

What is your favorite book? For fiction I really enjoy reading about the Baxter family, a series by Karen Kingsbury. My favorite non-fiction book that I read recently is The Lifegiving Home by Sally Clarkson.

What is your favorite Bible verse? Ephesians 2:1-10, but especially verses 4 and 5, "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved."

How may we be praying for you this coming year? I would love prayer that I would grow deeper in love with God. Our two daughters are sponges and I want them to see Christ's love in me. Also that I am fully present where I am in the moment. I wear a lot of hats, and I am trying to be intentional with the time I have been given during this season.

Registration forms are due for our 5th-8th Grade Boys' Basketball Team! Practices will begin on October 19th and our first game will be on November 17th. The season will have approximately twelve games and will go through the end of January.

To register for basketball, please click here to download the form. Your form and registration fee must be returned to the office by TOMORROW.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on October 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  As we schedule these meetings, it would be helpful to hear from you. If there is a time that is not convenient for your schedule, please communicate that to Carissa by this Monday, October 12th.  She will then adjust the schedule accordingly. You may email Carissa at nbcs@newtonbible.org or call the office at 316-283-1337.

We are excited about our All-School Roller Skating field trip!

Where? The Highrollers Skating Rink at 130 East 3rd Street
