NBCS Memo - January 22

Celebrating Kansas Day is a favorite NBCS tradition! This year will be no exception. From cheese and sauerkraut cooking to quilting and clay creations - lots of fun activities are planned! After a sloppy joe lunch, 1st-8th students will also be visiting the Warkentin House in Newton. We can't wait to learn about Kansas Prairie Homemaking together!

A few important reminders for next Friday:

-Students will be performing class KS Day skits at 8:45 a.m. Parents, grandparents, supporters, etc. are all invited to come watch! The skits will be held in the sanctuary.

-All students are welcome to come to school dressed in their best Kansas Prairie attire!

-Kindergarten will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m., following lunch.

-Lunch will be provided for all our students! It will be sloppy joes and sides. No need to pack a lunch!

-1st-2nd graders need to bring their booster seats (if needed) for our ride to the Warkentin House.

On February 12th, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., we will host our 8th Annual NBCS Fine Arts Competition!  All NBCS students will be competing in categories ranging from piano solos to humorous speeches to oil painting to woodworking...and many, many more!

We are excited to see all the students who signed up to participate! They received further rules and directions for their specific categories this past week. If you have any questions regarding the paperwork, please don't hesitate to contact Carissa at nbcs@newtonbible.org. She is also willing to email you instructions and forms if you prefer an electronic copy.

***NBCS Parents, please note that this will be a full day of school. Unlike previous years when we dismissed at noon, this year 1st-8th grade students will remain at school after lunch to warm-up and prepare for the event. All 1st-8th classes will participate in choir performances and will cheer on their classmates in individual performances. Parents (and supporters!) are still invited to attend the event at 1:00 p.m. and encourage our students through your presence!***

Art lovers - we need your help! Would you be willing to judge art projects for our upcoming NBCS Fine Arts Competition? The entries will be judged throughout the day on Thursday, February 11th, or during the morning of the 12th.

Please email Carissa at nbcs@newtonbible.org if you would be willing to serve in this way. Thank you!
