NBCS Memo - February 17

In honor of Presidents' Day, we will not have school this next Monday, February 20th. Enjoy your 3-day weekend!

All our invited to attend our Open House on March 2nd. Parents will enjoy visiting classrooms and talking with teachers, while kids will enjoy the bounce houses and snacks!

A Parent Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. for all current and prospective parents. This will take place in the sanctuary.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 9, from 2-7 p.m. School will be dismissed at noon that day to allow teachers time to prepare for these meetings.

As we schedule these meetings, it would be helpful to hear from you. If there is a time that is not convenient for your schedule, please communicate that to Carissa by Monday, February 27. She will then adjust the schedule accordingly.

Mark your calendars and invite your friends!

Our 10th Annual Fine Arts Competition was a wonderful time of celebrating God's work in and through our students. This event could not be possible without the judges who willingly sacrificed their time and energy to serve our school. Thank you!

Picture of the Week
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes were fascinated in learning about the process of candling eggs. Mrs. Miriam Johnson, thank you for coming to show them how it works! They are so excited for the eggs in Mrs. Johnson's classroom to hatch!

"Meet" our speaker for the evening by reading the bio below!

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration's guest speaker, JJ Jasper, is a veteran morning on-air radio personality, best-selling author, comedian, dedicated Christian, and devoted family man.

JJ hosts a national morning radio show on the American Family Radio network (approximately 200 stations in 36 states). When he’s not motivating listeners with his unique brand of humor and encouragement, he's entertaining people as a stand-up comedian and keynote speaker.

He is the author of Losing Cooper: Finding Hope to Grieve WellMoses Was a Basket Case, and Jonah Had a Whale of a Time.

JJ and his wife, Melanie, have a soft spot for Christian education. Over the years, they have seen the investment they made at work in the lives of their children and are so thankful that they set them up on a strong foundation in the Lord. "You cannot put a value on the Word of God being at the center of your kid's life."

JJ is looking forward to the time that he will spend at NBCS and sharing his message about how a Christ-centered education is worth it all. Here's a quote from JJ that is worthy of our consideration: "Neutrality in education can be pretended, but never accomplished. Someone's values will always be taught."
