In music class, students learn a variety of skills, building up to the end goal of reading music and even writing some of their own! We accomplish that goal through a mix of songs, games, movement, instruments, and listening. We desire to teach them that our ability to sing and play music is a gift from God, and that He alone is worthy of our worship.
In band class, students learn how to play their instruments as a member of a team. We cover a large range from simple songs to full arrangements, and we enjoy the opportunity to play as a pep band for several sporting events throughout the year! We are excited for the opportunity this presents for our students to grow.
The PE program at NBCS is designed to improve motor skills, hand eye coordination, and balance. Students practice common activity skills with the goal of being able to participate in social and recreational activities with other people for a lifetime. PE activities also provide opportunities for students to grow in leadership skills, cooperation, empathy, self-control under pressure, and being considerate winners and gracious losers.
