End of Summer Letter from Mrs. Reiger
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Nearly every conversation I have had recently has begun with, “When does school start?” School seems to be on people’s minds, so it must be time to begin thinking about it--at least in small doses mixed with lots of summer fun.
In reality, plans for this school year started before last school year ended. I would like to share with you our theme for school year 21-22, which is one of my favorite things to think about as I look ahead to the beginning of this school year. This year our theme is God’s Wisdom in My Everyday Life. We will start the year by looking at the contrast of wisdom and foolishness and then each month study Biblical wisdom as it relates to a different area of life. As you probably have surmised, we will spend most of our time in the book of Proverbs. Our key verses, which we will memorize together during chapel, are Proverbs 1:4-5
“…to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth--Let the wise hear and increase learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,…” (Prov. 1:4-5 ESV)
In the list of purposes he gives for Proverbs, Solomon mentions giving knowledge and discretion to the youth. The principles for wise living found in this book are not just for grown-ups; they are for elementary, middle school, and junior high aged people! I look forward to the privilege of being able to study wisdom with our students.
Speaking of students, we are also excited to welcome new students and families to our school this year. We are expecting nine students each in pre-K and Kindergarten. This represents several new families. We will have new families joining us with students in other grades as well, and we are thankful for each student and family that God brings to NBCS. Returning families, please watch for and welcome those who are new.
Families will have an opportunity to meet one another and meet teachers at our enrollment/workday August 14 from 9-12. This is usually a great morning of learning to know one another as we work together to get the building and playground ready for school. At 10:00 that morning, Mrs. Unruh and Mrs. Johnson are planning a special “Meet your teacher” time for pre-K students. We would love to have everyone join us!
We are thankful for the opportunity you are giving us to partner with your family. As the school year nears, please feel free to ask any questions you may have or let us know if there is any way we can serve you better.
Serving in Christian education because God’s wisdom works,
Mrs. Regier
