NBCS Memo - May 10

Everyone is invited to attend our Kindergarten & 8th Grade Graduation on Tuesday, May 14th, at 7:00 p.m.  Our K4-8th grade students will be performing during the ceremony, so we ask that all students come dressed in their nice chapel attire.  Students should arrive 15 minutes early and head to the music room to warm up.

Plan to stay for the cake and punch reception in the gym following the ceremony.  We look forward to celebrating all that God has done, and will continue to do, in our graduates’ lives.  Esther, Priscilla, and our Kindergarten students have been a blessing to NBCS!

Congratulations to Nathan Close and Katelyn Orpin!

Nathan's coloring picture earned 3rd Place for the 2nd Grade category in the 2019 FACT Children's Contest and Katelyn's picture earned 1st Place for the 1st Grade division!!  We loved seeing the creativity they displayed through their pictures.

Nathan Williams also tied for 4th Place in the Kindergarten category!  Way to go, Nathan!

Jubilate, a 12-member English handbell choir from Appalachian Bible College, will be performing for the NBCS Students on Wednesday, May 15th.  They will also be joining us for lunch that day.  The performance will be at 1:15 p.m. and all are welcome to join!

NBCS Sports Day

In spite of the the rainy weather outside, we had a wonderful Sports Day last Friday!  Thank you for your willingness to be flexible and enjoy the morning with us.  The students enjoyed the games, laughter, and lunch together!

A lost and found table has been set up in the foyer.  Please visit the table this next week to see if it contains any of your student's belongings.  Many jackets, sweatshirts, shirts, gloves, etc. have been lost throughout the year!

Any items that are not claimed by the last day of school will be donated to a local charity.  Thank you!

Parents, don't forget that Thursday is a half day of school!  Dismissal is at 12:00 p.m. Students are allowed to dress in P.E. attire on Thursday (in preparation for our annual end-of-the-school-year Capture the Flag game!).

Picture of the Week
It may be a little chilly, but that didn't stop our students from enjoying popsicles, flip-flops, and sunglasses today!  Happy Summer Spirit Day!

"Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
John 15:4-5
