NBCS Memo - August 20

We have had a wonderful first week of school at NBCS!  It is a joy to have the classrooms and hallways once again filled with the sound of students' voices.  We have prayed for each one of your students, and are looking forward to investing in them over the coming year.  Thank you for partnering with us in the education of your children!

This Friday Memo includes many reminders and school details. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help as you transition into this year.  You may email the school office at nbcs@newtonbible.org or call 316-283-1337.  We are here to assist you in any way we can! 
 
P.E. Clothes Order
Students in 3rd-8th grades are required to have a NBCS P.E. shirt and black shorts in order to participate in P.E. class. The deadline to order P.E. Clothes is THIS Monday, August 23rd. Shirts are $8.68 and shorts are $13.02 (prices include tax). Order forms are included in each family's enrollment packet and sizing options are available in the school office. 
Mrs. Regier's Birthday
This Thursday, August 26th, is Mrs. Sharon Regier's birthday! Make sure to wish her a happy birthday and thank her for her ministry among us!
Purchase Pizza & Milk Cards
This NEXT Thursday, August 26th, will be our first pizza day of the school year!  Students will be able to order cheese, beef, or pepperoni pizza in advance and purchase soft drinks ($0.75) at lunch! Milk is also available at lunch every day. 
Pizza and milk cards are available in the school office.  Pizza cards are $10 for 8 slices and milk cards are $3.50 for 10 milk punches. 
 
No School on Labor Day!
There will be no school on Monday, September 6th, in honor of Labor Day! We hope everyone is able to enjoy their 3-day weekend!

Moms in Prayer
Our first Moms in Prayer gathering of the school year will be on Friday, September 10th, at 3:00 p.m. All moms are welcome to join and pray with Mrs. Regier for our school. If you have young children, please bring them as well! They will play while the moms share and pray together.

Picture of the Week
It is a blessing when our school neighbors are big fans of NBCS. They allow us to explore their garden for a classroom outing! This morning our 5th-6th grade class enjoyed investigating flowers and plants in search of insects.

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?"

NBCS is SO excited to host our annual FUN Night again this year! This is a fundraising event for all families and friends. Mark your calendars for September 17th and look for more details to come next week!
