NBCS Memo - April 10

Everyone is invited to join us TONIGHT, April 10th, at 7:00 p.m. as we celebrate all God is doing at NBCS this year!  All Pre-K-8th grade students will provide entertainment through choir and band performances, as well as class recitations and songs.

Bring Snacks - Each family is asked to bring a sweet or salty snack tonight. Please bring this to the gym when you arrive.

Dress - Students should come dressed in Sunday/chapel attire. This includes collared shirts, belts, and dress shoes for the boys. No jeans, please.

Arrive Early - Band students need to arrive at 6:40 for warm-up. All other students must arrive at 6:50.  1st-8th may assemble in the Music Room. Pre-K and Kindergarten students should gather in their classrooms.

Seating - We expect the sanctuary to be full of family and friends tonight! Please help latecomers by scooting all the way into a row so guests may easily be seated beside you. Thank you!

Reception Time - We ask that students remain in the gym with their parents during the reception time. No running in the hallways or going into the classrooms, please!

Following our Spring Showcase tonight, there will be no school tomorrow! Enjoy your three-day weekend!

Iowa Assessment Tests
This week students in Kindergarten through eighth grade have taken the Iowa Assessments and first and sixth grades are taking the Cognitive Abilities Test as well. There is a $25 testing fee for each student, grades K-8thPlease bring this payment to the school office by the end of April.

The school will receive test scores soon after tests have been sent to the scoring center. These scores will indicate how your student performed on the tests compared with students across the nation in the same grade. They also allow teachers to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the class as a whole. Test results will be distributed to parents after they are received.

Parents, we wanted to let you know that we will dismiss at 2:30 on Tuesday, April 22, due to a memorial service scheduled for 4:00 at Newton Bible Church. The service is for Marilyn (Sundquist) Snyder who was a teacher at NBCS in the 1980s. Please make note of this and plan accordingly!

Our 12th Annual Eagle 5K is on Saturday, April 26! Whether you run, walk, or crawl, all are encouraged to join us in supporting NBCS in this way!
